The draw for the play-off round in the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup Qatar, which will witness the participation of 10 teams from the continent, will be held at 5:00 pm tomorrow, Saturday.

They were divided into two levels, the first level: Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Nigeria, while the second level included: Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali and the Democratic Republic of the Congo

And the official website of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) published a report on the most prominent numbers of participation of the ten teams by lottery in the World Cup, and it came as follows:

Egypt national team

Egypt was the first African country to reach the World Cup in Italy in 1934, and appeared in three World Cup editions (1934, 1990 and 2018).

In total, Egypt played 7 matches in the World Cup, but did not achieve any victory, drew twice and lost 5 matches, and the Pharaohs scored 5 goals and received 12 goals.

Algeria national team

Algeria has played in the World Cup Finals four times (1982, 1986, 2010 and 2014). Their best achievement was in the Round of 16 at Brazil 2014.

In total, Algeria played 13 matches, winning 3, drawing 3 and losing 7. They scored 13 goals and conceded 19 goals.

Cameroon national team

Cameroon were the first African team to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Italy 1990. They appeared in seven editions, an African record (1982, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010 and 2014)

In total, Cameroon played 23 matches, in which they won 4, drew 7 and lost 12. They scored 18 goals and conceded 43 goals.

Democratic Republic of the Congo national football team

The DR Congo’s only appearance in the World Cup finals was in West Germany in 1974.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (under the name Zaire) played 3 matches in the World Cup, losing them all, not scoring any goal and conceding 14 goals.

Ghana national team

Ghana is one of three African teams to play in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, in South Africa 2010. It has appeared in the World Cup three times (2006, 2010, 2014)

In total, Ghana played 12 matches in the World Cup. 4 wins, 3 draws, 5 losses. The Black Stars scored 13 goals and conceded 16 goals.

Mali national team

Mali is the only team in this qualifying round that has not played in a World Cup final before.

Morocco national team

Morocco was the first African team to skip the group stage when it reached the last 16 in 1986. It appeared in the World Cup five times (1970, 1986, 1994, 1998 and 2018).

In total, Morocco played 16 matches, winning 2, drawing 5 and losing 9. He scored 14 goals and conceded 22 goals.

Nigeria national team

Nigeria have reached the last 16 three times, in the USA 1994, France 1998 and Brazil 2014. They played in six World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002, 2010, 2014 and 2018).

In total, Nigeria played 21 matches, winning 6, drawing 3 and losing 12. They scored 23 goals and conceded 30 goals.

Senegal national team

Senegal is one of the three African teams that reached the World Cup quarter-finals, in Japan and South Korea 2002. They played in the World Cup twice (2002 and 2018).

In total, Senegal played 8 matches in the World Cup; 3 win, 3 draw and 2 loss. Teranga Lions scored 11 goals and conceded 10 goals.

Tunisia national team

Tunisia has appeared in the World Cup five times (1978, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2018).

In total, Tunisia played 15 matches, winning 2, drawing 4 and losing 9. They scored 13 goals and received 25 goals.
