Al Hilal Bestows Big Money on Jose Morais
“Hadaf News” learned from well-informed sources the details of the agreement between Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal with the Portuguese coach Jose Morais, who was appointed as an interim coach for the first team.
The sources stated that Al Hilal management had agreed with Morais on a contract worth 500 thousand dollars.
They indicated that the interim Portuguese coach will receive this huge sum in return for two months only.
Moreover, the same sources stated that there is a clause in the coach’s contract that includes the possibility of renewal with the club if the two parties so desire.
They explained that his contract includes joining into the internal regulations of bonuses for the first team of Al Hilal.
In addition, sources revealed that Morais will receive a reward if he succeeds in leading the team to achieve the Saudi Professional League title.
At first, the management of Al Hilal had named Jose Morais as the coach of the first team on Saturday.
The Portuguese succeeded the Brazilian coach Rogiero Micali.
The management sacked the Brazilian coach after the end of the 2021 AFC Champions League group stage.
Micali led the team in 13 games only, succeeding the Romanian coach Răzvan Lucescu.
During his period, Al Hilal won 8 matches, lost 4, and tied in one.
Portuguese Jose Morais began coaching in 2001. Since then, he went through several remarkable experiences.
Working as assistant coach of the most famous Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, was the highlight of Morais’ career.
The new coach of Al Hilal accompanied his Portuguese compatriot at the clubs of Porto, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Moreover, Morais had previously coached in Saudi Arabia 14 years ago, when he trained Al Hazem in the 2007 season.
After that, the Portuguese coached Al-Faisali and Al-Shabab.
He led Al-Shabab to win the Saudi Super Cup in the 2014-2015 season against Al-Nasr with a penalty shootout.
