Al Wahda FC (UAE) players are the “most violent” in Asia

Al-Wahda UAE players continue to perform violently during their participation in the 2021 AFC Champions League. It has become the team that has gained the most color cards in the tournament this year.

After only 5 matches, the UAE club’s players have so far received 17 cards between yellows to reds.

As a result, the accumulation of yellow cards, in addition to the dismissal of players with the red card, has become a problem that annoys the Emirati club.

During the match against Persepolis F.C. of Iran, 3 players received yellow cards. Also, a fourth player received a red card after a reckless intervention from the Emirati club player.

Al-Wahda defeated Persepolis 1-0.

In the match, Mansour Al-Harbi, Abdullah Al-Karbi, and Abdullah Anwar received yellow cards.

Moreover, the striker Abdullah Anwar was sent off for receiving a red card.

Anwar’s dismissal came after his reckless and unjustified interference against the Persepolis player, in an irresponsible act of Al-Wahda player.

The Emirati striker joined his colleague, Ismail Matar, who was sent off with a direct red card in the match against Qatar’s Al-Rayyan club.

Matar attacked the Qatari club defender unjustifiably, so the referee dismissed him.

As a result, the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee decided to impose deterrent sanctions on the Emirati player.

The committee decided to suspend Ismail Matar for three matches.

In addition, it imposed a fine of 1,000 USD on the player.

In fact, this is not the first red card of the Emirati player in the AFC Champions League.

Matar was previously sent off directly against Al-Rayyan club as well in the first round of the tournament in 2007.

The Emirati player had attacked Adel Lamy, defender of Al Rayyan club at the time.

In all, players from Al Wahda received 17 cards during 5 matches only.

Of these, 15 are yellow cards and two red.
