Arsenal in talks with Inter Milan to settle Martinez deal

Press reports revealed, today, Tuesday, that Arsenal plans to include Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, the Inter Milan star, to support the Arsenal club.

According to the newspaper “Italian Football” and the British newspaper “The Telegraph”, Arsenal contacted Inter Milan to inquire about Lautaro Martinez, and the Argentine is likely to leave more than Romelu Lukaku.

The English newspaper said, today, that the Argentine international is one of the options available to Mikel Arteta’s team in the English Premier League this summer.

Inter Milan’s financial woes aren’t over and they need to cut costs, so while they sold Achraf Hakimi to PSG for €60m plus up to €11m in bonuses, this may not be the end of the star names leaving.

Lautaro Martinez turns 24 next month and his contract is set to run until June 2023 and his agent has been in negotiations for months but has repeatedly said he is in no hurry to sign a new deal.

The Nerazzurri does not want to let his contract fall apart further before he extends his contract because that would lower his price.

Lautaro has a release clause of €111m which is only valid for clubs outside Italy but could be sold for €90m and it was more widely believed that if he left Italy FC Barcelona were very close to him last summer.

Also, some English media continue to speculate about Romelu Lukaku in favor of Chelsea or Manchester City, and that if there is a striker who can leave Inter Milan, it is likely that it will be Argentine star Martinez.

Martinez, who recently won the Copa America with his country, scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists in 48 official matches last season.

It is noteworthy that the Argentine star Martinez began his football career in the country of Argentina, where he participated for the first time in 2015 with the coach of Racing Club.

There Martinez spent four seasons and was a good role model for the club in La Liga and the Copa Libertadores, scoring 27 goals in 60 appearances before joining Inter in 2018.

The star Martinez previously represented Argentina at various youth levels and participated in the 2017 Copa America U-20 Championship and the 2017 U-20 World Cup.

He made his first team debut in 2018, represented the first team in the 2019 Copa America and helped his team get third place in the competition.

His early start was when Martinez was born in Bahía Blanca, following in his father’s footsteps to become a professional footballer.

He joined local club Liners Bahia Blanca, with whom he excelled at the U-17 level in 2013 and scored 13 goals in the U-17 League.

He scored a goal in the National Cup Final despite eventually losing on penalties to Rosario.
