Aston Villa included Coutinho on a permanent contract until 2026
Aston Villa announced today, Thursday, the signing of Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho, on a permanent contract for 4 years, to continue with the Villains team until 2026, from Barcelona.
A club statement said: “Aston Villa are pleased to announce the permanent contract of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona for an undisclosed fee. The Brazilian playmaker has signed a contract until 2026.”
Coutinho joined Aston Villa on loan in the last winter transfer market and played 16 matches in the English Premier League, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists.
English press reports revealed that the deal to join Coutinho with a permanent contract cost the scoundrels treasury 20 million euros.
Commenting on the signing of Coutinho, Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard said: “He is a great signing for Aston Villa, Coutinho is a typical professional and his impact on the group has been very clear since his arrival in January.”
“In his behavior on and off the field, he is also a role model for our young players who can only benefit from his experience,” he added.
