Aubameyang is close to joining Chelsea

Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is close to returning to London six months after leaving Arsenal, but this time he will be in a Chelsea shirt.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that Chelsea representatives are in Barcelona and met with Aubameyang on Thursday night to sign him, and the meeting went well and the player is happy to move to the Blues this summer.

It is now likely to start official negotiations, as Barcelona requested 30 million euros in exchange for signing him, while Barca coach Xavi Hernandez confirmed that he wanted to keep Aubameyang.

The sale would benefit Barcelona although it would give them some breathing room in the salary crunch, and negotiations between the clubs are set to begin soon.

While Chelsea seem unlikely to offer the 33-year-old €30m, the deal seemed to make sense.

It should be noted that Barcelona has not yet registered Jules Conde, a defender from Seville, and it is assumed that he is still interested in signing Chelsea’s full-back Marcos Alonso.
