Bayern Munich overtakes Schalke 04 and leads the German league ahead of the World Cup


Bayern Munich continued its victories in the German League, by defeating its host Schalke 04, with a clean double, in the match that brought them together on Saturday evening, at the “Villetnice Arena”, as part of the fifteenth round of the 2022-2023 Bundesliga competition.


Serge Gnabry scored Bayern Munich’s goal, in the 38th minute of the match, with a creeping shot to the right of the Schalke keeper, after receiving a heel pass from Jamal Musila.


In the second half, Cameroonian striker Maxime Choupo-Moting added the second goal of the Bavarian team, in the 52nd minute of the match, after receiving a wonderful pass from Jamal Musiyala, who was singled out for the goal and shot to the right of the goalkeeper.


The video technology “VAR” canceled a third goal for Bayern Munich in the 67th minute, scored by Jamal Musiyala, due to the presence of offside.








Bayern Munich strengthened its lead in the German League standings with 34 points, 6 points ahead of its closest followers, Leipzig, the runner-up with 28 points, and Schalke’s balance stopped at 9 points in the eighteenth and last place.


The German League will stop after the end of the fifteenth round matches, in order to make room for the German team to compete in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
