beIN SPORTS Expands in women’s sports
beIN MEDIA GROUP, the global sports, media, and entertainment group, has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights to the world’s first and only women’s racing championship, the W Series.
Broadcasting rights will be in 24 countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and the United States.
The tournament will form a major part of beIN’s women’s sports content.
Before that, beIN SPORTS announced last week that it had acquired another exclusive broadcast rights. It will broadcast the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 24 countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
This year, the championship will run from June 26 to October 30. Austria will host the first of eight races.
The free-entry tournament provides equal opportunity for women. It also removes the financial barriers that have historically prevented them from reaching the top levels of motorsport.
Moreover, a diverse group of 18 female drivers from around the world is participating in this year’s W Series. The group includes Jimmy Chadwick, winner of the first edition of the tournament in 2019.
All competitors will compete in matching Tatuus F3 cars.
Mohamed Al Subaie, Acting CEO of beIN Middle East and North Africa, said, “We are happy to be broadcasting the W Series to our subscribers in the United States, the Middle East, and North Africa.
In fact, the W Series is committed to promoting gender equality in motorsport and empowering the next generation of female drivers.
