Reports.. Benzema will back down from international retirement if Zidane is appointed coach of France

French star Karim Benzema announced his retirement from international football, after Didier Deschamps, coach of the Dukes, refused to attend the World Cup final between Argentina and France, to support his country in the 2022 Qatar World Cup final.

Benzema wrote on his personal page on Twitter: “I made efforts and mistakes until I reached what I am today, and I am proud of that. I wrote my story and our endings.”

According to the French “Foot Mercato” website, Karim Benzema could return to the French national team if Zinedine Zidane replaced Didier Deschamps.

And Benzema had left the French national team camp due to pain in the thigh muscles, as the relationship between the Real Madrid striker and Deschamps deteriorated, because Benzema was injured and despite his willingness to make every effort to be available at the end of the first round, but the coaching staff of the French national team did not want to keep him and expel him from camp.

The French newspaper “L’Equipe” revealed that Didier Deschamps is close to an agreement with the French Federation, to continue in his position until the 2026 World Cup, not the European Nations Cup “Euro 2024”.

She explained that Deschamps wants to continue until the next World Cup in 2026, and not renew for two years only, until Euro 2024.
