Benzema is Real Madrid’s second highest scorer in its history, equal with Raul

 

French star Karim Benzema set a new record with Real Madrid, after he scored his team’s second goal against its guest team Levante, during the meeting that is currently bringing them together at the “Santiago Bernabeu”, in the 36th round of the Spanish League competition.

Benzema reached his 323rd goal in the Real Madrid shirt in all competitions, equal with former star Raul Gonzalez, the club’s second top scorer throughout its history, behind Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has the record with 450 goals.

Ferland Mendy scored Real Madrid’s first goal against Levante, just 13 minutes after the start of the match.

Real Madrid started the match with the following formation:

Goalkeeper: Courtois.

Defense: Vallejo, Nacho, Vazquez, Mendy.

Midfield: Modric, Camavinga, Valverde.

Forwards: Benzema, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr

Real Madrid, the defending champion, is at the top of the Spanish league standings with 81 points, after winning the title for the 35th time in its history, while Levante comes in 19th place with 29 points.

Real Madrid plays the Levante match in order to grab the three points and consolidate its lead in the Spanish League, which officially decided its title from the 34th round after beating Espanyol by four clean points.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is targeting the Levante match in preparation for the largest possible number of players within the royal ranks in preparation for the Champions League final against Liverpool on May 28.
