Cannavaro comments on Mohamed Salah’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or

Italian legend Fabio Cannavaro, a former Ballon d’Or winner, confirmed that he hopes the defenders will win the Ballon d’Or again in the coming years.

Cannavaro added, in statements to “On Time Sport” channel: “Defenders are part of football. I played against many legends, such as the Brazilian Ronaldo and Cristiano Ronaldo, and I think that they are among the most difficult players I have faced.”

Cannavaro explained: “Mohamed Salah’s victory in the Ballon d’Or award depends on his performance, what he offers and what he is achieving with Liverpool FC at the moment.”

Regarding the winner of this year’s award, Cannavaro said: “I don’t know, maybe Messi or Lewandowski.”

The ceremony will be held today, Monday, during which the award will be given to the best player in the world inside the city of magic and beauty, Paris, at the Chatelet Theater in the French capital, in the presence of world football legends.

The list of players from fifteenth to eleventh place is as follows: “Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus), Giorgio Cellini (Juventus), Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea), Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund).”
