Vialli was diagnosed with the disease in 2017 to battle cancer for 5 years before his departure today, Friday, after enjoying a great career with Sampdoria, Juventus and Chelsea, and played 59 international matches with the Italian national team.
Vialli worked as an assistant coach, Roberto Mancini, in training the Italian national team, and the Italian won the European Championship in 2020, but unfortunately the disease returned to him after a year, and last month, he was forced to give up his role with the Italian national team.
The former footballer spent most of his career at Sampdoria, scoring 141 goals in 327 matches over eight seasons, helping them win the Serie A title, three Italian Cups and one UEFA Cup.
Sampdoria was Vialli’s second club after Cremonense, which he left in 1984 after 25 goals in 113 games, and Vialli’s third team was Juventus, having joined him in 1992.
The former striker scored 53 goals in 145 appearances for the Bianconeri, while winning one title, one Italian Cup, the UEFA Cup and the Champions League.

Vialli then signed with Chelsea in 1996 and scored 40 goals in 88 appearances, winning the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup.
He made his final appearance in 1999 but went on to manage Chelsea after becoming player-manager the previous year.
