Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur to reach the League Cup final

Chelsea qualified for the League Cup final, after defeating its host Tottenham Hotspur with a clean goal, in the meeting that brought the two teams together, on Wednesday evening, at the “Tottenham Hotspur” stadium, in the second leg of the championship semi-final.

Chelsea had won the first leg match with two goals at Stamford Bridge.

German defender Rudiger scored Chelsea’s goal against Tottenham in the 18th minute of the match, from a header, taking advantage of a wrong exit from Spurs goalkeeper Giulini, from a corner kick by Mason Mount.

In the second half, VAR denied Tottenham Hotspur a goal scored by star Harry Kane in the 64th minute, due to offside.

The match was suspended for more than 5 minutes before its end due to an emergency medical condition in the stands before it resumed. Chelsea are waiting in the League Cup final, qualified for the teams Liverpool and Arsenal.

In the English Premier League, Chelsea occupies the second place in the English Premier League standings, with 43 points, behind leaders Manchester City with 53 points, while Tottenham comes in sixth place with 33 points.
