Crespo calls on Milan to avenge Liverpool: The wound is still there

Former Argentine star Hernan Crespo called on his former AC Milan team to avenge Liverpool, which includes Egyptian international Mohamed Salah.

After they were drawn together in the group stage of the current season of the European Champions League.

The draw for the group stage of the Champions League was made by Liverpool, accompanied by the Italian teams, Atletico Madrid, and Portugal, in the second group competitions of the competition.

Milan will start its Champions League group stage matches against its host Liverpool at Anfield on September 15.

Liverpool had won the Champions League in 2005 at the expense of Milan in an exciting remontada.

After the Reds tied in the second half, despite being three behind in the first half, the English team won the title on penalties.

Although Milan then avenged Liverpool in the 2007 final, winning 2-1.

However, this did not make Crespo, who is currently coach of the Brazilian team Sao Paulo, forget what happened in the Istanbul final.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Crespo said:

“The wound is still open for me, Liverpool and AC Milan are the first Champions League game of the season, and you already know what that means for me.”

Crespo continued:

“I scored two goals in the first half, and I never forgot that night, and even though Milan did beat Liverpool in the 2007 final, I ask (Milan) to beat them at Anfield, take revenge for me, show who Milan are.”
