Portugal lose Danilo to Morocco in quarter-finals

The Portugal team will lose midfielder Danilo Pereira, star of Paris Saint-Germain, against Morocco, in the match scheduled for next Saturday, as part of the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup, which is currently being held in Qatar, and will continue until December 18.

Danilo Pereira suffered a broken 3-rib injury during his team’s training after the match against Ghana, and as a result he missed Portugal’s matches against Uruguay, South Korea and Switzerland.

The French newspaper La Cape confirmed that there are talks between the medical staff in Germain and the Portuguese national team, which ended with the return of Danilo with a rib injury, and Nuno Mendes with a groin injury, to Paris, and the Paris Saint-Germain players will continue their rehabilitation in the French capital.

Portugal swept Switzerland 6-1 in the match that was held between them on Tuesday evening at Lusail Stadium, within the round of sixteen competitions in the 2022 World Cup, which Qatar is currently hosting and will continue until December 18.

Gonzalo Ramos (hat-trick), Pepe, Guerrero and Rafael Leao scored in the 17th, 33rd, 51st, 55th, 67th and 92nd minutes respectively for Portugal, while Manuel Akanji’s only goal was scored by Manuel Akanji in the 58th minute.
