Darwin Nunez to undergo medical examination in Liverpool next Monday

Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez will travel to Merseyside next Monday to undergo a medical examination and sign a new contract with Liverpool FC until June 2027.

The English club Liverpool succeeded in resolving the deal of the Uruguayan star Darwin Nunez, the Portuguese star of Benfica, to support the Reds attack in the new season 2022-2023, after the agreement between the two parties was terminated, and only the official signature remains.

Darwin Nunez has a contract with Benfica, the Portuguese, until June 2025, but he revealed his desire to play for Liverpool, and Benfica will receive 80 million euros in addition to 20 million additions to the striker.

For his part, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed, through his personal account on the social networking site “Twitter”, that Liverpool succeeded in resolving the deal for the Benfica star in his favour, and that the player would undergo a medical examination on Monday.

“Liverpool is now closing the Darwin Nunez deal,” Romano said. “There was a meeting in the morning with a verbal agreement between Liverpool and Benfica, just waiting to be signed.”

He added, “Liverpool will sign the player for 80 million euros, in addition to an additional 20 million euros.”

And Fabrizio Romano concluded, “Liverpool attend the paperwork. Five-year contract, already agreed.”

Having managed to score 34 goals in all competitions this season, the Uruguay international has emerged as one of the most important players in Europe.
