Donnarumma is the best goalkeeper in Serie A. After Gianluigi’s impressive performances last season with the Rossoneri, he won the award for best goalkeeper.

This season, Inter Milan won the title of Serie A after leading the standings with 91 points.

The Nerazzurri outperformed its arch-rival, Milan, by 12 points. But the latter also returned to the European Champions League after years.

The 22-year-old Italian goalkeeper Donnarumma’s contract expired in the summer. Se will leave at the end of this season.

Milan technical director Paolo Maldini has revealed that Donnarumma will officially leave the Rossoneri at the end of the current season.

The Italian club failed to renew Donnarumma’s contract. Negotiations between the two parties ended in deadlock.

Donnarumma is the best goalkeeper in Serie A

Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma won the award for the best goalkeeper in Serie A for the current season 2020-2021.

Donnarumma appeared with a strong performance during the last season with AC Milan.

Gianluigi led his team to second place in the Serie A table, with a score of 79 points.

In fact, it is a qualifying position for the Champions League in the next season 2021/2022.

National Professionals League Serie A has revealed that Donnarumma has won the best goalkeeper award in Serie A this season.

Gigi achieved 92 saves in the competition. The percentage of shots he saved inside the penalty area was 66%. He conceded 38 goals in 37 matches.

Maldini explains the scenario of Donnarumma’s departure

Maldini said in a statement to Calciomercato: “I think we should thank all the players who made this great season. Gianluigi Donnarumma was a champion, and he was often the captain as well.”

On the club’s position on Donnarumma, he said, “Sometimes people find it difficult to understand what being a professional means. Moving to other clubs is part of it.”

“Those who have done a lot must be respected, and Donnarumma has done so, and Milan should not worry. In this age, it is difficult to find jobs that start and end in one place,” he added.

Several press reports indicated that Barcelona is interested in signing Donnarumma this summer.

The Spanish club made an official offer and entered into serious negotiations with Donnarumma, to sign a contract with him until 2026.

Thus, the goalkeeper will earn a salary of 10 million euros per season. The club will decide the fate of the deal in the coming days.
