Everton sweep Brentford FA Cup in first appearance with Lampard

Everton qualified for the round of 16 in the FA Cup after beating its guest team Brentford 4-1, in the meeting that brought them together this evening, Saturday, at “Goodison Park”, in the fourth round of the FA Cup competition.

It is the first night’s meeting for the Everton team under the leadership of new coach Frank Lampard, who took over from the Spanish Rafael Benitez after he was sacked due to poor results.

Everton ended the first half of the match with a clean goal, scored by Colombian defender Yari Mina in the 31st minute.

In the second half, Brazilian Richarlison boosted the Toffees lead with the second goal in the 48th minute, before Evan Toni reduced the score for Brentford by scoring the first goal in the 54th minute from a penalty kick.

Mason Holgate scored Everton’s third goal in the 62nd minute, and Andros Townsend finished the Toffees quartet in the first minute of time instead of wasted.

Chelsea had won a difficult victory over its guest team, Plymouth, 2-1, after the match extended to overtime.
