FIFA cancels decision to replay Brazil-Argentina World Cup qualifiers

 

 

The International Football Association FIFA decided, on Tuesday evening, not to re-match the Brazilian team and its Argentine counterpart in the qualifiers for the finals of the next edition of the World Cup “Qatar 2022”.

 

The Argentine Federation issued an official statement announcing that FIFA had decided to cancel the replay of the Tango Dancers match with Brazil in the World Cup qualifiers in Qatar, adding that the Football Association of the two countries and FIFA had reached a settlement before the Court of Arbitration for Sport to not play the match.

 

Last November, FIFA announced the replay of the match between Brazil and Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers, which was stopped minutes after its start last September, at a date and place determined by FIFA.

 

The match between the Brazilian national team and its Argentine counterpart stopped several minutes after its start; because of the request by members of the organization “Anvisa”, the national health monitoring agency in Brazil, to stop the match; Because of the participation of Argentine players who violated the quarantine rules.

 

And FIFA issued an official statement in which it said: “The FIFA Disciplinary Committee reached its decisions regarding the Brazil-Argentina match in the preliminary match for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, after conducting a thorough investigation into various factual elements, and in light of the applicable regulations, the Disciplinary Committee decided that the match should be replayed in A date and place determined by FIFA.
