
FIFA: Thank you, the Atlas Lions.. an achievement that will remain in history
FIFA praised the historic achievement of the Moroccan national team in the current edition of the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar, and its competitions will end tomorrow evening, Sunday, with the expected final between Argentina and France.
FIFA wrote on its official account on the social networking site, Twitter: “Thank you, the Atlas Lions… an Arab and African achievement that will remain and will remain in history, but it was just the beginning of a greater achievement to come.”
FIFA added, “A match that did not bring the best news to the Moroccan public, but it entered the Atlas Lions in history from its widest gates: the first African and Arab team to play the ranking match in the history of the World Cup.”
And the official account of the International Federation of Football Associations continued: “Your journey captured the hearts of millions in the world. We are waiting for the lions in their next adventure soon.”
The Moroccan national team became the first Arab team to reach 20 goals in the history of the World Cup, after scoring a goal against the Croatian national team, in the third-place match in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The Lions of the Atlantic came as the third African team to score in the history of the World Cup, with 20 goals, behind Nigeria with 23 goals and Cameroon with 22 goals.
