Harry Kane on England’s poor performance: “Judge us in the World Cup”

England captain Harry Kane has asked critics to judge his team based on their performance in the World Cup, after his results in the European Championship fell.

England fell to the second level in the European Nations League after five matches without a victory, and the series includes two defeats from Hungary, one of which was 4-0 at Wembley and another loss from Italy, along with two draws.

In turn, Harry Kane said in comments published by the newspaper “Mirror”, “I understand the frustration of the fans, I was a fan of England, and I am still a fan of England whether I play or not, so I understand that, but in the end we will be judged on what happens in November.”

“If we had a successful tournament, I’m not sure people would be worried about how long we’ve been in over the summer, and that’s the bottom line, we need to improve, we know that,” Kane added.

“The fans are always great and stick with us, I know they will be there on Monday supporting us (against Germany) and everyone will be excited for the World Cup, no matter what happens, I hope we can please them with some good results.”

Kane scored England’s only goal in their five Nations League matches so far in the 2022-23 tournament, an 88th minute penalty against Germany in a 1-1 draw in June.
