
Officially.. Reece James announces his absence from England at the 2022 World Cup
Chelsea defender Reece James has officially announced his absence from the England national team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which is scheduled to be held on November 20, and will continue until December 18.
Chelsea defender Reece James revealed, in a statement posted on his personal account on the social networking site “Twitter”, that he will miss the England squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to injury.
James said: “I’m frustrated, I knew from the moment I injured my knee that catching the World Cup is difficult, I worked hard to recover and help the team in the World Cup but it didn’t come true, good luck to everyone.”
Reece James suffered a severe knee injury during his participation with Chelsea against AC Milan in the Champions League.
And Chelsea revealed in an official statement, that Reese James suffered from a knee injury that requires rest for 8 weeks in order to fully treat it, which dealt a heavy blow to England coach Gareth Southgate before the World Cup.
It is worth noting that the England team is competing in the second group of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with Iran, America and Wales.
