Klopp attacks the referee of the Tottenham summit against Liverpool and confirms: Harry Kane deserves to be expelled
Jurgen Klopp, coach of the Liverpool team, launched a fierce attack on the English referee Paul Tierney, within his ranks, the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
He managed the Reds’ confrontation with Tottenham, which ended 2-2 this evening, Sunday, at the “Tottenham Hotspur” stadium, in the 18th round of the English Premier League competition “Premier League”.
In his comments after the match, Klopp said:
“Yes, Robertson deserved to be sent off and made a bad tackle. Instead of asking me, I’m asking questions to the match official, Mr Paul Tierney.”
Klopp added:
“I don’t understand how the video referees said that Robertson’s foul deserves a red card and Kane’s foul does not deserve a red card,” explaining that “Harry Kane can’t judge an intervention, and there are referees responsible for that, it’s a red card without a doubt, it was very clear.”
Klopp continued:
“The referee surprised me by his justification for not awarding the Jota penalty, he told me that he stopped deliberately to fall,” adding: “I don’t know what Paul Tierney’s problem is with me.”
He continued:
“It was a combative match. We played well, but in the second half we did not play well. Tottenham came into the game and looked better in the second half,” adding: “We scored a second great goal and then conceded a goal minutes later. Alisson saved us a lot today.”
On the possibility of stopping the Premier League due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, Klopp commented:
“I don’t have a problem with stopping the league but where are we going to play the postponed matches? There is not enough time.”
With this result, Liverpool is second in the English Premier League standings with 41 points, 3 points behind Manchester City, the leader with 44, while Tottenham is seventh with 26 points.
