Klopp explains why Liverpool lost to Manchester City

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp explained why the Reds lost to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.

Man City overcame the Reds, 3-2, at the Etihad Stadium, this evening, Thursday, in the round of 16 of the Carabao Cup.

In remarks made following the meeting and shown on Sky Sports, Klopp remarked, “We played in a way we haven’t played for a long time, and we had to adjust a lot in the last training session, we needed time to adapt.”

“In the first 15 minutes we were really struggling, and that kind of crushed our confidence.”

He continued: “The goals we conceded were completely unnecessary, we had good periods, and we could have scored more goals as well, it is a result that we have to live with now.”

And he continued, “It was a strong match from both teams, and this is normal. We played a good confrontation, but it is not good enough to beat Man City.”

“There is plenty we can build on, and this is what we shall do,” he said in closing.
