German coach Jurgen Klopp said that he was pleased with the leading role of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah during the match between Egypt and Cameroon, which was held yesterday, Thursday, in the semi-finals of the 2021 African Nations Championship.

And through statements highlighted by the official Liverpool club page on the social networking site “Twitter”, Klopp said:

Yesterday, when the coach of the Egyptian national team was expelled, I saw Mohamed Salah talking to the players and the whole group, and they are leadership things that make me very happy.”

The German said about the confrontation between Salah and Mane in the final of the African Nations Cup next Sunday:

“A great achievement for the duo, Naby Keita also played a special tournament, the trio has been a successful tournament so far and in the final one of them will be very happy and the other is not, it is an opportunity to achieve something big.”

Klopp continued:

“It is assumed that both Mohamed Salah and Mane will play against Leicester City on Thursday, but we will see what we will do after they return.”

And he added:

“The winner of the final will return to us on Wednesday at the latest, while the other will precede him in reaching Liverpool. I have to talk to them before anything because they have a match format because they have played many of them.”

Liverpool is ranked second in the league standings, nine points behind leaders and title holders Manchester City.
