Injury threatens Kylian Mbappe’s participation with France against Cote d’Ivoire

France international striker Kylian Mbappe will miss his country’s friendly match against Cote d’Ivoire, scheduled for tomorrow, due to the injury that the player is suffering from during the current period, which caused him to miss group training on Thursday evening.

Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, confirmed that Kylian Mbappe is not ready to participate with the roosters in the friendly match that will be held against Cote d’Ivoire.

Deschamps made it clear that he would not make his final decision about the absence of Kylian Mbappe until the last hours before the expected match, in anticipation of the player feeling comfortable before the next friendly match.

Deschamps also announced that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante will not play against Cote d’Ivoire after leaving the camp two days ago for personal reasons, but he will play against South Africa.

As Deschamps trains in today’s training session behind closed doors, RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku will start attacking veteran Olivier Giroud and will make his debut at the age of 24 as an international in France.

In the absence of Kylian Mbappe, the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” expects Wissam Ben Yedder to perform the duties of the striker instead of Kylian Mbappe and next to the star Antoine Griezmann.

The expected starting line-up for France against Cote d’Ivoire consists of: “Loris. Conde Varane Lucas Hernandez; Achwamini, Pogba Theo Hernandez; Griezmann. Nkunko and Mbappe or Ben Yedder”.
