Levakovic wins the award for best player in the Croatia vs. Japan match

Dominik Levakovic, the goalkeeper of the Croatian national team, was crowned the best player in his country’s confrontation with his Japanese counterpart, after he led him to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Qatar World Cup 2022, by winning a penalty shootout, 3-0, after the end of the original and extra time, with a positive tie with a goal for each.

Levakovic saved three penalties from Japan’s players and starred in the match greatly, as this leads his country towards deciding the pass to the next round.

The confrontation of the national teams of Croatia and Japan went to a penalty shootout after the end of normal time and the additional halves, with a positive draw, goal to goal, in the match that was held this evening, Monday, at Al Janoub Stadium, in the round of sixteen of the current edition of the World Cup, which is currently being held in Qatar and will continue until December 18, respectively.

And the first two teams to go to additional halves and then penalty kicks are the Croatian team’s confrontation with its Japanese counterpart, as all previous confrontations in the elimination rounds ended in their original time.

Daisen Maeda scored the first goal for Japan in the 44th minute of the match, and Ivan Perisic scored the equalizing goal for Croatia with a wonderful header that entered Japan’s net in the 56th minute of the match.

The Croatian national team is scheduled to meet in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup, with the winner of the confrontation between Brazil and Switzerland, which is scheduled for Monday evening.
