Liverpool is preparing a surprise with the help of the former Manchester United coach
According to recent press reports, Liverpool may hire an unexpected name, former Manchester United coach Ralph Rangnick, to take over as the club’s sporting director, succeeding Julian Ward, who will leave at the end of the season.
That role has been crucial to Liverpool’s success in recent years, with Ward and Michael Edwards helping Jurgen Klopp bring numerous trophies to Merseyside.
Rangnick is nominated for the position of sporting director at Liverpool
The German coach failed at United last season as the Red Devils finished the season in sixth place in the English Premier League table, but it is believed that he would be suitable for the position of sporting director and could get along well with his compatriot Klopp.
According to the Liverpool Echo report, Klopp is very impressed with Rangnick’s work after successfully managing the Red Bull project for many years, and that he may be suitable for the Reds’ future plans.
But the question will be, will Rangnick be ready to leave his current job as Austria’s national team manager to join the Anfield club or will he decide to continue in his current job having already achieved good results with the Austrian national team.
