Man United vs Everton .. Solskjaer on not starting with Ronaldo: He is no longer young

Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained why Cristiano Ronaldo did not start against Everton today.

He fears that the star of the team will be tired as a result of the pressure of matches with age.

Ronaldo sat on the Manchester United bench against Everton until the 57th minute, when he replaced Edinson Cavani in the confrontation that ended 1-1.

During the match that brought them together at Old Trafford in the opening matches of the seventh round of the English Premier League.

Solskjaer was asked after the match because Ronaldo did not start as usual, to reply:

“He is no longer a young player,” after the 36-year-old crossed the barrier.

Solskjaer added:

“We played on Wednesday at night, and our Saturday match was placed at noon, our match should have been placed on Sunday instead of Man City and Liverpool, and their game time was brought forward to Saturday.”

he added:

“There was a part of the game that was really good, I think we started well, with a lot of energy, in the second half we lacked the intensity to score the second goal, which is vital in a match like this.”

He continued:

“We didn’t concede a lot of chances today, but we conceded a goal, we need to manage those moments better.”

Man United is second in the English Premier League table with 14 points.

With a goal difference from leaders Liverpool, while Everton is in the same balance in third place with 14.
