Guardiola: The match against Crystal Palace is a final and Vieira knows the Premier League perfectly

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola confirmed that the team is suffering from the absence of a number of players against Crystal Palace, to be held next Monday, at Selhurst Park, in the twenty-ninth round of the English Premier League.

“We have a little problem because we don’t have a lot of players available,” Guardiola said in the match press conference. “I hope some will come back at the end of the week.”

Guardiola added, “Crystal Palace has lost one of the last eight matches, they have a high quality, especially in attack with Zaha, and when they defend deeply, it is difficult to break their defensive block.”

Guardiola added, “Silhurst Park is always a difficult stadium, it’s a final for us, and we know that, I hope we prepare well to face a strong opponent.”

He continued, “When you accept to play 55 matches, they are not final matches, but with only 10 matches, each match is a final. It is always difficult for us against Crystal Palace, whether it is at our stadium or their stadium, it is always a difficult match.”

On Patrick Vieira’s experience with Crystal Palace, Guardiola commented, “Patrick Vieira knows the Premier League perfectly, he was one of the best midfielders in the history of the league, knows the stadium, the media and the competition in the Premier League.”

Manchester City strengthened its lead in the English Premier League table, after its wide victory over its neighbor Manchester United 4-1, in the derby meeting that brought them together at the “Etihad” stadium, in the twenty-eighth round of the Premier League for the current season 2021-2022.

Manchester City raised its score to 69 points at the top of the English Premier League standings, 6 points ahead of its closest rivals, the professional team Liverpool, in its ranks, the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
