Ederson: Manchester City can achieve the historic treble

Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson believes that Manchester City is able to achieve the historic treble this season, by winning the English Premier League and FA Cup, as well as the Champions League.

Ederson said during the press for his team’s match against Sporting Lisbon in the second leg of the 16th round of the Champions League:

“We are absolutely capable of achieving the treble for sure, our goal is to win every tournament we play in, we have to go step by step. There is a challenge in every tournament we play in.”

On the possibility of winning the Champions League, he commented: “Last season, we had a chance, but we lost in the final.”

He added:

“Every day you gain more experience, I left Benfica 4 and a half years ago, England is a completely different tournament than Portugal, I had to grow and mature and it helped me.”

On being in the middle of the United stadium during the derby, he commented:

“It’s hard for me to focus when I can’t see the ball. I keep in touch with my fellow players. When I don’t make saves I feel mental fatigue, which is more difficult than physical exhaustion.”

It is worth noting that the first leg match between Manchester City and Lisbon ended with Ederson’s companions winning 5-0 in Portugal.
