Mane asks Alcantara to move to his home in Germany in preparation for wearing the Bavarian shirt

 

English press reports revealed today, Wednesday, that Senegalese star Sadio Mane has asked his Liverpool colleague Thiago Alcantara if he can move to his home when he joins Bayern Munich this summer.

According to the British newspaper, the Daily Mail, Thiago Alcantara, who spent 7 years at Bayern before joining Liverpool in 2020, and still owns a mansion in Munich that has remained empty for the past two years.

As confirmed by Bild, the German newspaper, Bayern have already seen an initial offer of £21m for Mane plus £4m bonuses, however, they haven’t given up and are already preparing a second £30m offer with £4.2m potential bonuses. Liverpool maintains a direct fee of £35m.

Bayern are confident of signing the Senegal international, with president Herbert Hainer recently telling Bild: “If we really want a player, we are able to get him, but he must suit us.”

Mane’s future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, due in part to his own comments, while away from international service and suggesting that he would follow the wishes of Senegal fans by leaving before later insisting that he was “joking” with those comments and maintaining full respect for Liverpool.

Bayern are still trying to negotiate a transfer fee with Liverpool, but Mane is so confident that the move will pass that he is already talking to Thiago about living arrangements in Germany.
