Argentina faces Croatia in the semi-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, after the latter qualified at the expense of Brazil 4-2 on penalties.
Argentine star Lionel Messi spoke in press statements about his country’s qualification for the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup at the expense of the Dutch national team with the last penalties in the quarter-finals of the match that brought them together on Friday evening at Lusail Stadium.
Messi said in a press statement after the match: “We did not want more times or penalties, but we have to suffer and we played the game wonderfully and excitingly and progress step by step and we are there and very happy.”
“I got angry when the match came 2-2 and I don’t want to talk about the referee because if you are honest and tell the truth, you know you will be punished and the referee did not appear as required and it is wrong to choose such a referee for this match and FIFA must choose a referee worthy of this occasion.”
“Croatia are a great team and we can say that they played better than Brazil and reached the semi-finals and they take advantage of the fact that their coach knows the team well,” Messi concluded.
