Messi asks Paris Saint-Germain to rest before the World Cup

Argentine press reports revealed that Paris Saint-Germain striker Lionel Messi is concerned about his fitness ahead of the next World Cup, which begins on November 20, and may ask not to play the club’s last match this month.

The Parisians are scheduled to play the Auxerre match on November 13 while Argentina’s trip to Qatar begins on November 22, and according to Argentine journalist Gaston Idol, the Argentine playmaker will likely miss Paris Saint-Germain’s last match before the World Cup.

The Argentine journalist indicated that the striker is currently set his sights on winning the World Cup with the Argentina national team, with discussions about his future now taking place behind the scenes.

It is believed that Lionel Messi has entered into a friendly relationship with PSG coach Christophe Galtier, who took over at the club after the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino, and this relationship could make it possible for the Paris coach to agree to the Argentine’s potential request to skip the Auxerre match.

Messi shines with Paris Saint-Germain this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in only 17 games with the French giant.

The Argentine star Lionel Messi, the French player of Paris Saint-Germain, also topped the ideal formation in the five major European leagues during the rounds that were held this week in the current season 2022-2023.
