The Argentine star, Lionel Messi, player of Paris Saint-Germain, won the 2021 Ballon d’Or award, awarded by the famous French magazine “France Football”.
And that was during the ceremony currently being held at the Chatelet Theater in the French capital, Paris, in the presence of world football legends, which is held annually to distribute awards for the best in the world.
Messi surpassed the Polish star Robert Lewandowski, who came in second place in the final ranking of the 2021 Ballon d’Or.
Messi led his country to win the Copa America, and also won the King’s Cup with Barcelona, as well as being the top scorer in the Spanish League last season.
The last winner of the award was Argentine Lionel Messi, who won it for the sixth time in 2019 after the ceremony was canceled last year due to the outbreak of Corona.
Messi succeeded in winning the Ballon d’Or award 6 previous times during his career, winning it 4 times in a row: 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, before returning to crown it again in 2015 and the year before last 2019, knowing that the award was canceled last year.
