Liverpool swept its Scottish counterpart Glasgow Rangers 7-1 in the match that took place between them on Wednesday evening at the “Ibrox” stadium in the fourth round of the Champions League for the current season 2022-2023.

Injuries hit the Liverpool team heavily before the match, as Colombian Luis Diaz injured his knee and confirmed his absence until the end of next December, in addition to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who also suffered an injury in the last game for the Reds against Arsenal, in which the first suffered a defeat in the English Premier League.

 

Liverpool began its campaign this season in the Champions League with a heavy loss away to Napoli, Italy, 4-1, before regaining confidence in the second round and beating Ajax of the Netherlands 2-1, and Rangers with two clean goals.

 

The first group includes, in addition to Liverpool, Italy, Napoli, Ajax Amsterdam and Rangers of Scotland.
