Mourinho chooses the best between qualifying for the Champions League or winning a championship with Roma

The Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, commented on the Italian team, Roma, on the best option between his team qualifying for the Champions League next season, or achieving the title this season, before his team faces tomorrow against Genoa in the Italian League.

“Qualification to the Champions League will be important for the club in terms of prestige, financial return and many other things, but I think winning a championship will be an important event also for many reasons, we need to try seriously,” Mourinho said in comments published on the Italian club’s official website.

He added: “We are now in a crucial stage of the season, every league game is important, the cup is also the knockout, so we have to focus, this is the group we have, and we have to give everything in every game.”

He continued: “I am happy with what we have done in the transfer market, given the kind of business we were looking to do, we are better than we were before the beginning of January.”

“We aspire to keep improving with each transfer window, and part of that process means keeping our best players. The team is now more balanced. In a week like this, with three games in a short period of time, there will be a lot of opportunities for all the players to participate.”
