British reports revealed Jose Mourinho, coach of the Italian team, Roma, to lead Everton, succeeding sacked coach Rafa Benitez.
And the newspaper “Daily Telegraph”, that the club Everton offered Mourinho the responsibility to be the coach of the team during the coming period.
Everton is looking for the sixth coach during the past three years, which reflects the state of the team during the current period.
Among the candidates to succeed Benitez will also be Paulo Fonseca, another former Roma coach who was already linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
Other options include the possible return to Everton of Belgian coach Roberto Martinez, Duncan Ferguson or Marco Silva.
Everton announced on Sunday the dismissal of Spanish coach Rafael Benitez from coaching the team due to poor results, after taking charge at the end of last June, succeeding Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, the current coach of Real Madrid.
“Everton FC can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as coach of the team, and an update on his replacement will be made in due course,” a club statement said.
Everton had lost 2-1 to its host Norwich City, during the match that brought the two teams together on Saturday at Carrow Road in the 22nd round of the English Premier League.
The Spanish coach led the Toffees team during the current season in 22 matches in all competitions, winning 7 matches, drawing 5 and receiving 10 defeats.
