The Netherlands beats Qatar and qualifies for the round of 16

 

The Netherlands national team qualified for the round of sixteen in the 2022 World Cup, after defeating Qatar, with two goals, in the confrontation that was held between them at the “Al-Bayt” stadium, at the end of the group stage matches for the first group in the 2022 World Cup that will be held in Qatar and will continue until the 18th. Dec.

Cody Jacobo scored the first goal for the Netherlands national team in the 27th minute, becoming the first Dutch player to score in all of the first three World Cup matches.

 

Jacobo also became only the second player to open the scoring in 3 group stage matches in the same edition of the World Cup, after Alessandro Altobelli for Italy in 1986.

 

Frenkie de Jong added the second goal of the Netherlands national team against Qatar in the 50th minute of the match.

With this result, the Netherlands national team tops the standings of the first group of the 2022 World Cup competitions, with 7 points, to settle the qualifying card for the round of sixteen, while the Qatar national team is at the bottom of the standings without any balance of points.

 

The calculations for qualifying in the first group of the World Cup were among only 3 teams, namely the Netherlands, Ecuador and Senegal, after Qatar exited the race by defeating them in the past two matches.

 

The Qatari team lost in its first two matches, as it was defeated by Ecuador with two goals for nothing, and then against Senegal by three goals for one.
