Origi accepts Milan’s offer after raising the salary to 3.5 million euros

Press reports in Italy suggested that Liverpool striker Divock Origi had agreed to a three-year contract with Milan during the next summer transfer period as a free player, after his contract with the Reds expired at the end of the current season.

According to the “Sport Mediaset” website, negotiations reached a conclusion today and the player agreed on the terms of a deal with the Rossoneri.

Origi is expected to sign a three-year contract worth around 3.5 million euros per season, and there will also be an option to extend for a fourth year.

The report stressed that the salary would be less compared to what he received with Liverpool, which amounted to 4 million euros per season, but Milan raised its first offer of 3 million euros to reach the agreement.

The Belgium international has been playing at Anfield since 2014, although he was out on loan to Lille and Wolfsburg.

So far this season, Origi has scored five times and contributed three assists, despite only playing 533 minutes of football in 14 games.

Milan needs reinforcements in the offensive line after the second consecutive draw 0-0, which threatens the project to win the Italian League title this season.
