Patrice Carteron: Points Matter the Most
Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron made a statement after defeating Al Masry of Port Said, 3-2.
The match took place yesterday at Alexandria Stadium in the 24th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Zamalek had also achieved a difficult victory in the last round, over Tala’ea El Gaish, with two goals to one.
This season, the White Knight tops the league table with 54 points.
The statements of Patrice Carteron after the win over Al Masry
“Today’s tactic was due to the nervous tension, but the most important thing was to score the game points,” said Carteron, after defeating Al-Masry in a statement after the match.
He added, “The changes that have been made in the formation were due to the pressure of the matches. We are happy that we have a couple of players at the level of our left and right backs.”
Patrice Carteron continued: “Ashraf bin Sharqi was not successful and could score more than one goal, but he is an important and influential player for us. Also, Tariq Hamed is an indispensable player, and this dismissal against Al Masry is his opportunity to catch his breath.”
He appended, “We reach the opponent’s field a lot, for Zamalek is the most team I trained to reach the Penalty area with such intensity.”
“Losing opportunities will be treated in the coming period. The team has already made many mistakes,” he concluded.
The coaching staff of the first team decided that the team would train without getting rest.
The Ismaili match in the round of 16 of the Egypt Cup will be held next Thursday evening at Suez Stadium.
Zamalek will train at twelve noon today in Alexandria, after facing Al-Masry yesterday in the Premier League.
The team will move to Ain Sokhna at 2 pm to enter a closed camp there in preparation for the match.
The team will play its main training session on Wednesday at the stadiums of Wadi Degla in Ain Sokhna.
