Portugal won an easy victory over its host Azerbaijan, by three goals to zero.

This is in the confrontation that took place between them this evening, Tuesday, at the “Tawfik Bakhramov” stadium, as part of the sixth round of European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Bernardo Silva scored the goal for Portugal in the 26th minute of the match.

And Andre Silva added the second goal for the Portuguese national team in the 31st minute of the match, then Diogo Jota scored the third in the 75th minute of the match.

The Portugal team played against Azerbaijan with the following formation: Goalkeepers: Patricio / Defense line: Pepe, Guerrero, Cancelo, Ruben Diaz / Midfield: Bruno Fernandez, Moutinho, Pallina / Forward line: André Silva, Jota, Bernardo Silva.

With this result, the Portuguese team is temporarily at the top of the first group standings table with 13 points, 3 points ahead of Serbia, which has fallen to second place, while the balance of the Azerbaijan team is frozen at one point in the last place.

The Portuguese team is awaiting the result of the Serbian team with its Irish counterpart in the same ninth round, except for a quarter of this evening.

Portugal played a match against Azerbaijan without Cristiano Ronaldo, where he returned to Manchester United, after his participation in the victory of his country against its guest Ireland, by two goals against a goal.

The Portuguese Football Federation had announced that Ronaldo had left the Brazil camp in Europe, due to the suspension and his absence from the match against Azerbaijan.

Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal to a difficult 2-1 victory over Ireland.

He scored the two winning goals for Brazil in Europe, breaking the number of Iranian legend Ali Daei, and becoming the all-time leading scorer for teams at the international level with 11 goals.
