Preparing for the Gold Cup, Qatar begins training in Croatia
The Qatar national football team started its training camp in Croatia, in preparation for the Gold Cup.
Qatar national team, led by Spanish coach Felix Sanchez, is preparing to participate in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The competition will take place in Houston, USA, where Qatar will participate for the first time.
The Qatari delegation, which arrived in Rovinj on Saturday, includes 30 players.
Qatar training camp will extend for three weeks in Croatia before traveling to Houston on the 6th of next July to participate in a one-week camp before the official start of the tournament.
The light recovery exercises started immediately after arriving at the residence. All 30 players included in the list participated.
However, the heavy exercises started on Sunday and will continue daily until the time of travel to America.
The Croatia camp will last for three weeks from the 12th of June to the 5th of July. The delegation will leave for America to start another camp before officially starting the tournament.
Qatar will play in the Gold Cup in Group D. It also includes Honduras, Panama, and Grenada. Qatar will play its first match on July 13 against Panama.
In fact, Qatar has just concluded its participation in the fifth group of Asian qualifications for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
Qatar is defending the title it achieved in 2019 in the UAE. It has achieved seven victories and one draw in eight meetings.
