Qatar Beat Grenada with a Big Score

The Qatar national team beat Grenada 4-0 in the second round of Group D in the Gold Cup.

The match took place at BBVA Stadium in Houston, Texas. The group also includes Panama and Honduras.

In the first half, the Qatari team dominated. And reached the goal of Grenada continuously.

Abdelaziz Hatem opened the scoring at the 11th minute after following the ball with the goalkeeper.

Qatar continued to put pressure on the opponent’s goal. Thus, Akram Afif scored the second goal with a powerful shot outside the penalty area.

And, in the 36th minute, Mohamed Muntari added the third goal for Qatar from a header.

However, Al-Moez Ali missed the opportunity to score the fourth goal while facing the goal after a pass from Abdulaziz Hatem. The first half ended with Qatar advancing with three goals.

The situation also continued in the second half of the Qatari team’s advantage. Al-Moez Ali added the fourth goal after receiving a cross ball.

Then, Felix Sanchez substituted Khoukhi with Bassam Al-Rawie due to injury.

After that, he made several substitutions. He entered Ahmed Alaa, Asim Madbo, and Abdullah Abdul Salam.

Qatar managed to maintain its lead to beat Grenada as its first victory in the tournament. Thus, Qatar is close to qualifying for the quarter-finals.

With this victory, the Qatari raised its score to 4 points. Grenada was eliminated from the tournament after the second loss in a row. Its next match with Panama will be ineffective.

Qatar is participating in the tournament at the invitation of the Confederation of CONCACAF. This is in preparation for hosting the next World Cup in Qatar.
