Qatar beat Switzerland in Men’s Beach Volleyball
Qatar beat Switzerland in men’s beach volleyball at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan defeated the Swiss duo, Adrian Heidrich and Mirco Gerson, at Shiokaze Park.
Qatar managed to win 2-0 in Group C match.
The match ended in about an hour. Qatar’s team won both halves 21-17 and 21-16.
The Qatari duo provided all the skills and techniques of beach volleyball. They managed to knock out their strong opponent, the Swiss duo.
Qatar’s beach volleyball team is up to another challenge of preparing for the next two matches within this group.
Qatar will face the Italian duo, Adrian Carambula and Enrico Rossi, next Wednesday, at 2:00 in Doha time.
Furthermore, Qatar will face the American duo, Jake Gibb and Taylor Crabb, next Friday, at 4:00 in Doha Time.
Qatar’s delegation includes Mohammed Salem Al Kuwari, Member of the Board of Directors of the Volleyball Association, delegation manager, Mohamed Anbar Al-Nasser, director of the Qatari national teams and member of the Beach Volleyball Committee, team coach Mariano Paracetti, his assistant Pablo Bernardi, and therapist Arniel Cruz, in addition to Cherif, and Ahmed.
Qatar seek to continue their good performance, after they beat Switzerland. They are hoping for an Olympic medal.
