Rangnick appears for the first time at Old Trafford .. and attends the Arsenal meeting from the stands

Manchester United’s new coach, Ralf Rangnick, appeared at the Red Devils’ Old Trafford stadium today, Wednesday, after his arrival in England, to lead the Red Devils in the coming period, succeeding the dismissed coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The English newspaper, “Manchester Evening News”, reported that the 62-year-old visited the Manchester United stadium with United director of football John Murtaugh, who already knew Rangnick before his appointment, and played a key role in the decision to appoint him as interim coach.

Rangnick took a look around the facilities at Old Trafford and spent several minutes on the pitch with Mortog before stopping to chat with former United defender Wes Brown, who was also inside Old Trafford.

United announced the appointment of Rangnick on Monday as interim coach, and the former Schalke and RB Leipzig coach will take charge until the end of the season, before starting a two-year advisory role.

Despite already in Manchester, Rangnick will not be able to take charge of his first game on Thursday night when United face Arsenal at Old Trafford as he is still awaiting approval of his work permit.

United will hope Rangnick will be granted the work permit to take charge when United face Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday.

This means that Michael Carrick is still in charge of the team during tomorrow’s match against Arsenal.

“Apart from the work permit, the process of obtaining the work permit is in progress now and we are talking and I am in this position as I was with Villarreal and Chelsea, preparing the boys for the match tomorrow night,” Carrick said during the match press conference.
