Real Madrid celebrate winning the 14th UEFA Champions League

 

Real Madrid won the Champions League for the 14th time in its history, after beating Liverpool 1-0 in the match between the two teams on Saturday evening at the Stade de France, in the Champions League final for the current season 2021-2022.

After the match, the players celebrated their victory in the European Champions League and the Brazilian captain Marcelo lifted the trophy for the fifth time in its history.

Real Madrid’s goal came through the Brazilian Vinicius Junior in the 59th minute with a quick shot in front of the goal from a pass from Fede Valverde from the right side.

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah participated from the start of the match with Liverpool until the end, and he performed well, but bad luck prevented him from scoring.

Both teams tried to feel each other’s pulse in the first 15 minutes, and there was no real danger to either team’s goal.

Then Liverpool was the relatively more dangerous side, as it had two chances, one of which was dangerous to Egypt’s star Mohamed Salah in the 16th minute, after he hit a ball in front of the goal, so Courtois brilliantly shot it safely.

In the 34th minute, Mohamed Salah hit a strong header from Alexander Arnold’s cross, but goalkeeper Courtois saved it.

In the 43rd minute, Karim Benzema scored the first goal for Real Madrid after a fatal error from the Liverpool defense was canceled due to offside.

The start of the match was delayed for 30 minutes due to the riots of the fans, as many of them were outside the stadium and were unable to enter, while others stormed the match stadium without tickets and booked their places.

Liverpool advanced at Villarreal’s expense after winning the opening match at home 3-2 in the semi-final second leg, while the Reds won the first leg 2-0 at Anfield to qualify for the Champions League. Final for the tenth time in its history.

Real Madrid also qualified for the Champions League final after beating Manchester City 3-1 in the return match in the Spanish capital, Madrid, after losing 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium.
