Salary cut is a crisis that threatens Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United

Press reports revealed the possibility of the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United, as his salary will be reduced at Old Trafford if he does not qualify for the Champions League.

And the Spanish newspaper “Marca” reported that Ronaldo will have his salary reduced if United fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, which seems highly likely given the difficult season suffered by the Red Devils.

The newspaper pointed out that if Manchester United did not reach the top four this season, Ronaldo’s salary would drop by 25 percent, a number that could make the striker seek to leave Old Trafford.

The Portuguese Don returned to the Red Devils from Juventus in the summer, after he left “Old Trafford” in 2009 to Real Madrid for a world record at the time of 80 million pounds.

Recent events at the club have seen Ronaldo feel increasingly frustrated and he may want to leave again if things do not improve.

United are 19 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, despite spending more than £100m in the summer.
