Salah Congratulates the Egyptian Olympic Champions

Mohamed Salah congratulates the Egyptian champions Hedaya Malak and Seif Eissa, expressing his trust in all the Egyptians participating in the Olympics.

He also expressed his support to all the “stars” who were not as lucky and left the Games.

He confirmed that this is not the end but a step up to success.

Although Hesham Hatab, Head of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, expected Egypt only to start winning the competitions starting from the 29th of this month, both Seif and Hedaya managed to deviate his expectations.

Hatab said that the Egyptian squad is close to competing for five medals in games such as karate, archery, equestrian, wrestling and judo, ruling out taekwondo from his expectations.

Seif Eissa claimed the second Egyptian medal in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, after winning an Olympic taekwondo bronze medal as he beat Norway’s Richard Ordemann.

In the first round, Seif won with 2-0, while in the second 6-0, and in the third 12-4.

Seif Eissa is the second medalist in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, after Hedaya won the bronze in the women’s Taekwondo.

With this bronze, Hedaya became the first Arab woman to win two bronze medals in a row, after the bronze of the Olympic Games Rio.

Taekwondo is now the third sport with most Olympic medals in Egypt (with four medals), equal to boxing.

Thus, Egypt now has 34 different medals in the history of the Olympics (7 gold – 10 silver – 17 bronze).
