Senegal beat its guest, Congo, by a clean two, in the match that brought the two teams together, on Sunday evening, at the “Lat Dior” stadium, in the sixth and final round of Group H, in the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
Ismaila Sarr of Watford scored the Senegalese double against Congo, in the 13th and 23rd minutes of the match.
The match witnessed the absence of Sadio Mane, the Liverpool star, from the ranks of the Teranga Lions, due to the injury he suffered during the match against Togo in the last round.
The Senegalese team had qualified for the final stage of the African qualifiers for the World Cup Qatar 2022, before the end of the group stage in two rounds, after beating Namibia 3-1 in the fourth round.
Senegal finished the group stage with 18 points, after winning 5 matches and drawing in one match.
